As a U.S.-IMG who spent 2018-2024 years self-supporting myself and overcoming considerable obstacles beyond expected ones, I believe a game changer is writing systematic reviews ‘like a pro,’ especially if you are going to apply for a desired but competitive residency program or specialty.

Nope, it’s not about perfection. Instead, it is an invitation to take the first step in investigating an unlimited-shifting world of detail, refining scientific thinking, and achieving information literacy in knowledge generation and ‘art’ creation.

Our ideal expedition team is diverse. We enroll explorers of all levels (e.g., students, graduates, researchers, providers) and variable experience (e.g., obstetrician-gynecologists, other specialties clinicians) to match the heterogeneous nature of the obstetrics and gynecology discipline that covers not only its unique normalities, deviations, and surgeries, but also intervene with oncology (Gynecologic Oncology, Breast Disease, Hospice and Palliative Medicine), urology (Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery), internal and family medicine (Complex Family Planning, Maternal-Fetal Medicine), pediatrics and geriatrics (Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, Menopausal and Geriatric Gynecology), endocrinology (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility), emergency medicine and general surgery (Critical Care Medicine), and miscellaneous (Global Women’s Health).

In addition to helping you acquire hands-on skills in writing a systematic, scoping, or mapping review (or evidence and gap maps), gain an understanding of the process, and obtain a publication, we hope you find our wholeheartedly prepared educational and shared experience content, such as lectures and blog posts, helpful. 

Start a Different Expedition, Turn The Activity into Obsession, & Master Data Manipulation

Once you have learned the overall methodology, let’s develop talent by choosing a different domain for explorations (e.g., effectiveness, adverse effects, diagnostic test accuracy, etiology and/or risk factors, prognostic factors, expert opinions), applying respective methodologies, practicing an information-seeking behavior, and turning it into a habit. Indirectly, you will also learn observational studies and clinical trials methodologies as well as acquire skills to recognize reports’ quality. In the long-time race, we hope to challenge your thinking to the point of efficient data manipulation at all levels of the evidence pyramid.

Leadership for a Higher Purpose

You are not alone! Moreover, you are on a higher mission. It means we will not only determine projects’ directions, stimulate interactions, provide explanations, and set up plus review assignments, but we will also reflect on your questioning and reasoning, identify and address struggles, and, eventually, collect and analyze accumulated data for writing one of our major projects, titled ‘The Handbook on Writing Systematic, Scoping and Mapping Reviews Using Examples in Obstetrics and Gynecology,’ hoping it will become an accessible guide map for every dreamer who wants to make a change.

We want you to level up from a ‘child’ to a ‘teacher,’ forming Wolves League, a group of independent creators without guru statuses ready to spread ‘secrets’ openly as there is profound comprehension of preserved unique information processing by separate human minds and facilitating character of any discoveries plus honest excitement and intrigue behind playful bidirectional ‘outsmarty bites’ in a positive way. 

Through our commitment to education and restricted focus on obstetrics and gynecology plus pertinent topics (including all projects’ supervision and data evaluations by specialized clinicians), we are ambitious to reinforce the Cochrane Library’s work, take over the leading position, or even occupy the niche by building a Women’s Health Reviews Database supplied by various plus throughout reviewed clinically-relevant information.
